Our client had contracted a rig from a contractor which had only recently entered the UK market and required a customised rig intake service to alleviate the business and technical risks associated with the rig. The project was being managed by a third party and the UK authorities had an interest in the project.
In partnership with our client and the third party project manager, we developed an integrated rig intake process. The scope included:
•Kick-off meeting
•Rig status review (Class society, reactivation, SPS)
•Review of UK compliance
•Visual rig inspection
•Audit of management systems (HSE, MMS, competency)
•Environmental compliance
•Rig acceptance programme
Results: Close collaboration with all parties enabled us to optimise the project and provide detailed diligence on the readiness of the rig contractor to provide a compliant management system for HSE and maintenance management. A particular focus was on the competency of a new crew. All this led to a successful rig intake process.
